Insignia

Jughead

The Iron Order Motorcycle Club, like most other motorcycle clubs, hold meaning in their insignia. They have chosen to wear a three-piece patch reminiscent of the original motorcycle clubs of the 1950s. This collection of patches is made up of a top rocker saying “Iron Order” a center patch with the club logo “Jughead,” a bottom rocker denoting what state the member lives in, and a “MC Cube” denoting that they are a Motorcycle Club. They also wear name and position patches, as well as some additional patches such as IOFFIO (Iron Order Forever, Forever Iron Order), MBBM (My Brother Before Me), and the number 8 in a diamond, which stands for the original 8 founders of the club.

Membership

In order to become an Iron Order prospect, candidates must have a valid driver's license, 650 cc or higher, cruiser style motorcycle, good character, and no felony convictions. Along with having the likeness of mind to the Iron Order members. It is a fact that the Iron Order MC does background checks on all of its members and refuses individuals based on their criminal background.

A prospective member is first deemed to be a "hang-around," indicating that the individual is invited to some club events or to meet club members at known gathering places. If the hang-around is interested, and the club also finds the individual a proper fit through a vote, a man will become a "prospect", which allows him to participate in some club activities, but does not provide him with voting privileges. This phase takes a minimum of 90 days but in some cases has taken up to two years to complete. The last phase, and highest membership status, is "Full Membership" or "Full-Patch." The term "Full-Patch" refers to the possession of the complete three-piece crest, including the "Juggie" logo, two rockers (top rocker: "Iron Order"; bottom rocker: state and the square "MC" patch to the right of the jug head patch). Prospects are allowed to wear only a top, “Iron Order,” and bottom rocker with the state or territory name along with the rectangular "MC" patch. To become a full member, the prospect must be voted in by the rest of a chapter’s members.

Even after a member is patched-in, the patches themselves remain the property of Iron Order MC rather than the member. On leaving the Iron Order MC, or being ejected, they must be returned to the club.
