Nancy Noel

Nancy Noel is an American artist based in Zionsville, Indiana. Her paintings hang in the homes of many people, including Oprah Winfrey, Mikhail Gorbachev, Robert Redford and Jane Seymour.[1]

Early life

Nancy Noel holds a fine arts degree from the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati.[2] When first starting out in the business, she went by the name N.A. Noel because she wanted people to think she was famous in the art world at the time [3] In 1970, she opened her first art gallery in the Village of Zionsville, Indiana and went looking for a publisher to make prints of her work shortly thereafter. Unable to find one, she started publishing her prints herself. Since, she has sold over a million copies of her originals.[1]

The Sanctuary

In 2005, Noel purchased an old Victorian church on Main Street in Zionsville, and renovated it into an art gallery that holds her full collection of work.[1]

Philanthropic work

Nancy Noel is also a committed philanthropist. Most notably, she sponsors a preschool in Inbuto, Kenya that is named after her.[1]
