Kansas Bowling

Kansas Bowling is an American filmmaker based in Los Angeles, California. She is known for writing and directing Troma's B.C. Butcher when she was 17 years old.^{[1][2][3][4][5]}

Career

Kansas Bowling wrote the script to her film B.C. Butcher when she was 15 years old and shot it when she was 17 years old.^[6][7][8] B.C. Butcher is has been dubbed "the world's first prehistoric slasher film"^[9][10] and it stars Kato Kaelin, Rodney Bingenheimer, and Kadeem Hardison, and is produced by Lloyd Kaufman. ^[11][12] The film is being distributed by Troma Entertainment ^{[13][14][15][16]} and was one of their first releases on their streaming service, Troma Now on VHX.^[3][17] B.C. Butcher had its theatrical premiere March 3, 2016 in at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, California.^{[18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26]}

Bowling has said the film is inspired by the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Switchblade Sisters, Raquel Welch, Doris Wishman, and Joey Ramone, among others.^[27][28] Critics have described it as a "feminist slasher movie"^[29] and reminiscent of a "beach movie".^[11][30]

She is the first inductee into the Troma Institute for Gifted Youth.^[31]

Bowling was listed as one of W magazine's 42 up-and-comers in their "Next in Line" issue April 2016.^[32]

Personal life

Kansas Bowling was born and raised in Hollywood, California.^[2] As of January 2016 she was dating 106.7 KROQ DJ Rodney Bingenheimer.^[2]
