Edward Anwyl (Wesleyan minister)

Edward Anwyl (1786 - 1857) of Llanegryn, Mer was a popular Wesleyan minister. He attended the old grammar school at Llanegryn until 1798, when he left to work on the land. Having joined the Wesleyans in 1806 he began preaching and was ordained in 1808. From then until his retirement in 1854 he served in twenty-one successive circuits. He died in Holywell on 23 January 1857. [1]
