2-oxoglutarate (2OG)-dependent dioxygenases

2-oxoglutarate (2OG)-dependent dioxygenases are enzymes that can induce the hydroxylation of distinct proteins and the demethylation of histones and DNA. 2-Oxoglutarate and oxygen are their obligatory substrates, along with Fe2+ as their cofactor.

These are sensors of energy metabolism.[1]
